Howa MiniAction Rifles

Howa is a well known Japanese manufacturer of quality firearms. Howa firearms are imported and sold in the United States through Legacy Sports International.

After trying out the recently introduced Howa MiniAction rifles at SHOT Show 2017, we got a couple of loaners in 6.5 Grendel and 7.62.×39 courtesy of Legacy Sports. These rifles are known for their smooth cycling and lightweight actions, as well as some unique chamber offerings for bolt rifles (6.5 Grendel, 7.62×39). Long story short, we really enjoyed them as discussed in our video below.

The folks at Legacy Sports also conducted extensive accuracy tests of commercial ammunition in 6.5 Grendel and 7.62×39. You can download their reports as follows:

Saw one of the x39’s up close yesterday, guy traded it in on the Ruger American 7.62×39 Ranch. Other than magazine logistics, I can’t see a big advantage to the Ruger- and I like Rugers. If it was .223 I would have jumped on it. I may still grab it but it means adding another caliber to the pile, albeit a common and inexpensive one. Thanks for the write up.

OK, I did it. Sold some crap, made a deal, can’t wait to get out this week. Toying with optic choice, probably go with a TRS-25 dot to start. Damn this is a sweet little stick.
