Weekly Gear Update – Alex and Ryan Design Rifle Mag Carrier

Combine equal parts: Customization, cutting edge design, and shooting gear retention mechanisms and you have Alex & Ryan Design. In this gear update we take a look at Rifle Magazine Carriers made in Kydex from Alex & Ryan Design and show a little bit about what makes them unique and different. We also spoke at length with one of the owners Alex. Long story short, they really come across as wanting to satisfy the needs of each individual customer. If you can’t find what you like on the web site, we encourage you to contact them directly – you’ll find a couple of nice guys at the other end.

We liked the light weight design of the holsters and the open bottoms that prevent sand from accumulating. If you prefer a closed bottom, they can accommodate that as well. Our holsters worked with both AICS and AW magazines and are available in left and right hand versions. You can get just about any color you want too. The notch cut on the front of the holster made magazine insertion easy.

Note: In the video closeup you’ll see that a screw is missing from Steve’s holster. Per the instructions, one needs to apply the supplied Loctite once the have set the tension.
