annealing_snapshotOne of the things we’re trying to do with 6.5 Guys is create an environment where the audience can provide feedback and improvement suggestions. We believe our audience will benefit from a two way dialogue. You could call it an upward spiral of continuous improvement.

After watching our annealing video, viewers provided helpful feedback for saving time and improving the consistency of setting up the Bench Source annealing machine.

Here’s what we learned from our viewers:

  • Torch height on the Bench Source machine can be set by stacking washers.  Using this technique, you can create a reference card indicating the number of washers required for a particular cartridge. Others have suggested using tubing instead of washers to accomplish the same thing.
  • Make sure the torches are level as this allows for a more repeatable setup.  When the torches are level it is easy to eyeball where the flame will hit on the cartridge case.
